I was thinking about what it really means to Worship God.  We come into service on Sunday morning and lift our hands or say a few words like, "I love you Lord", or "Thank you Jesus".  We lable this kind of action Worship but we see very little fruit out of this kind of labor.

True Worship is not a once a week performance but a lifestyle.  The scripture teaches us that God is not looking for an outward action but a inward commitment.  True worship comes from the inner most part of our heart.  It is a deep travail that comes out of a love and passion for our God.

My prayer is that the body of Christ take just a moment and study the way we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Pastor Troy Nichols says:

I came across something else interesting in my Hebraic Studies on Worship. Yeshua said, you worship me in vain teaching for doctrines the commandments of men (Mt 15:9. Wow what a revelation! When we teach or preach it is worship in the sight of God. Now we see that we must first touch and move the heart of God with what we teach and preach before He will touch and move on the hearts of those we are teaching and preaching to. And if we don't touch or move the heart of God, it is vain and the most you can expect is mere emotionalism. Hence the people will leave with a shout and saying it was an awesome service only to never change because there was no Divine Inspiration and Impartation Present.

Linda Harper says:

Tonights worship service was awesome-I felt God's presence all around me as if I was being truly consumed by His power. God has been dealing with me concerning losing myself in Him. In worship at church, at home, everywhere. I don't want to "perform" a worship, but to live a life of worship. As you said it is a lifestyle. We bring Him offerings of praise when we treat others right, even when we don't feel like it. When we hold our temper after someone has wronged us. When we forgive the person in the speedy checkout lane who has 50 items in their buggy. You know--sacrifices of praise--a lifestyle of worship. Every day, everywhere, all the time.

Bishop,
We need to revise our way of thinking. You are absolutely right. We are not just going to church. We are coming to house of God and should be in frame of mind of communion with God. We have for so long separated our church life and our home life which makes our worship lacking. Worship is not shouting and the raising of our hands. It is hard sometimes to retrain our minds. But this is needful if we hope to move into true worship.
