I would like to turn your focus to the first question of this verse. Who told thee that thou wast naked? Naked meaning the lack of covering of any kind. In other words naked could also mean salvation or what the modern church calls being saved. The same question is being sounded by the Holy Spirit today. Who told thee that thou wast naked (lost, unsaved)?
As ministers we spend a lot of time revealing the signs of nakedness (being lost, unsaved) to our congregations instead of revealing the truth about the finished work that took place at Calvary. Now before everyone jumps on the assault the Bishop band wagon let me say that I have always preached and will always preach the saving blood of Jesus. I do believe we all have to come to Christ through repentance and the acceptance of what Jesus did in His own body. But I also believe if we can get more people to understand that they are not naked any longer but have been covered by the garment of righteousness then we would have less people hiding themselves from the presence of God.
